During the building process, we craved the simplicity of clean lines and raw textures over bold color. By keeping the public spaces restrained, we let the natural light, oak cabinets, and iron details provide the visual weight. Sea glass–hued ceramics and coastal-inspired embellishments are peppered throughout to balance the rustic ceiling beams.
I love a powder room that feels like jumping down a rabbit hole into an entirely new world. To bring a touch of glamour, we used custom wallpaper by artist Emma Hayes that evokes the shimmer of ocean waves. Unlacquered brass fixtures and subtly veined marble provide an old-world patina that feels instantly calming.
With multiple access points on every wall of the porch -- including a Dutch door off the mudroom and wet bar -- the home is designed for effortless entertaining. We often leave our steel doors open for an indoor-outdoor sightline that begins as soon as you open the front door. The porch acts as the ultimate connector.
The study was designed as a respite from our busy household -- an intimate, wood-paneled retreat for a book lover. We 'played chemist' for weeks to get the stain just right, ensuring a result that felt timeless rather than trendy. The room is anchored by a curated mix of new and antique pieces, including a favorite 18th-century English leather wing chair.
